Sicky #2

SO we have had almost two healthy weeks for Griffin. So Bill and I have started to get cold. This morning about 2am Holly crawled into bed with us saying that she didn’t feel well. After bill took her back to be a few hours later she woke up crying because she was itchy. This morning she broke out in a very distinctive rash could be Chicken pox could be a non-descript viral rash. I am at work and Bill is home with her. And taking her to the doctor……….then this evening after I get home from Work he leaves for a four-day business trip.

The Horror………….

Catching up

Well it’s been awhile since I last posted and well let’s recap. Griffin started day care on January 3rd and had a great first week Bill was the one who had the lowest survival rating.

On January 6th all the area schools closed except for the one that would effect my job and that really threw me for a curve as I had to take my first grader to day care and pay an extra $22 on top of the $290 I pay each week to have them there on regular days.

The next week Griffin was sick on Monday and stayed home half of Tuesday and then as he looked to be taking another bad turn I took him to the Doctor on Thursday at which we came home with a Nebulizer and amoxicillian. his diagnosis was sinus infection and Wheezing. the joke in the house is that I asked Bill if he was wheezing as he has asthma and he said “no, that’s not wheezing” but the doctor said it was.

He went back to day care on the 18th (I had the 17th off) and the week went well. He had to be neb every day but it was OK. We woke up on Saturday to Hives all over the boy. Damn that amoxicillin. He will not be given any more “cillian” type antibiotics. He got a new dianosis of RSV not fun but all looked well with treating it with just the nebulizer and the hives with benadryl.

Four days went by with out wheezing and then on the thursday he nedded some treatments and more each day on the following tuesday, Feb 1st, I kept him home on the wednesday Bill took him to the doctor. He got a chest x-ray. not real happy about that and was sent home with zithromax and prednosolone. They seem to have worked. He was treated like one would be treated for walking pneumonia. Poor little guy. So this past Saturday we had a wonderful party we wnet to and a fun dinner with friends and what happened that night he threw up--dry heaves and every thing. it was distressing.
After all of this I have no sick days left, I have a 1/4 day of persoal time and some vaction time. And Bill is travelling on Friday...off to chicago to teach Doctors and Nurses to use computers. He will be gone through Tuesday night. The idea stresses me out.

Work has been keeping me running too. Luckily Griffin made it all through the week at day care last week.
